DataTrack

DataTrack, a downhole recorder sub, can record the following variables; inclination, axial acceleration, lateral acceleration, temperature, bore pressure, annulus pressure, weight on bit, torque on bit, and bending moments. Data such as this can be used to understand drilling problems and though analysis provides means to correct those issues.

Features / Benefits

Sampling Rate
The rate at which data is gathered can be set prior to the sub going in hole. Typical usage would have the variables sampled at 100 Hz (max. frequency ) which provides a 300 hour recording life. Battery life is dependent upon the sampling rate with longer recording times available with lower sampling rates.

Thermal Capability
All electronics and sensors within DataTrack are capable of operating to temperatures of 150°C or 302°F.

Specific Sizes
Three different tools have been developed for specific hole sizes (14 ¾” - 18 ½”, 10 5/8” – 14 ½”,
8 ½” - 9 3/8”) so they are capable of withstanding the individual environments they were designed for. Connections available are pin up / box down with 7 5/8” API Reg., 6 5/8” API Reg., and 4 ½” API Reg.

Typical Uses
The sub can be used for different things such as; monitor drilling performance, monitor drilling equipment performance, reduce trips, increase bit life, increase bit efficiency, reduce drilling cost per foot, optimize bit design, or monitor drilling conditions. The downhole recorder sub will provide the feedback that you are interested in ultimately reducing your overall drilling cost.
